Revised Schedule for Greenwich Tournament

Weather permitting the Greenwich tournament is on and has been revised for Sunday (10/30). Please see the new schedule below. (Yes, Staples A plays Hudson Valley again.) We will send out an email early in the morning making a call to go or not, depending on the weather. Please assume and prepare as though we are playing.
The bus is still scheduled for 9:15. We will try to push it back once Dattco opens in the morning and aim for a 9:30 bus but please stay posted. The bus can just wait if we leave later.
Also, because the schedule was different in its original format, we have not ordered sandwiches for tomorrow. We will bring bagels and water but players should pack their own snacks as needed.

Greenwich Tournament Cancelled Saturday

The Greenwich tournament is cancelled for today (10/29).
Greenwich High School also cancelled its homecoming game.
The school has not determined what to do for tomorrow. We will let you know as soon as we hear anything.

Friday, October 28 — Varsity Game only Charter # 73648 10/28 to Greenwich 5:15 pm departure /8:15 stay
Saturday, October 29 — Varsity and JV have separate buses going to Greenwich but will return together
Charter #73649 10/29 to Greenwich will be a shuttle:
JV departure 2:00 pm
Varsity Departure 6:00 pm
All players will return together leaving Greenwich around 10:00pm
Sunday, October 30 — Varsity and JV Together
Charter # 73650 10/30 to Greenwich 9:15 am departure/1:00pm stay
If a player chooses not to ride the bus for any leg of the trips they need a signed travel release for each day of the tournament that they are not on the bus.

There is a girl’s home swim meet vs. Wilton so please come prepared to get changed in alternate bathrooms in order to start practice as soon as possible. Also come and cheer on the girls!

Wednesday, October 19th
Home game for varsity and jv vs. Horace Mann, 4 pm warm up, 4:30 pm start for the first game.
We will have a concession stand at the game.
Friday, October 21st
Away game for varsity and jv at Loomis Chafee, 1:45 early dismissal, 2:00 pm bus.
NEWS ON UPCOMING GAMES
Greenwich High School Tournament October 28th, 29th and 30th – Varsity and JV
While we don’t have the exact schedule, the tournament games will run on Friday night, Saturday starting at noon and ending at 9pm, and Sunday morning with the last game starting at noon. We will likely be playing some games on Friday and Sunday because Saturday is Staples Homecoming and, as a result, we have requested not to play before 3 pm on Saturday.
More details to follow as soon as they are set.
New Game/Rescheduled – Saturday, November 12th

WATER POLO CLINIC IS ON FOR SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16

After all the back and forth, the clinic this Sunday, October 16 is on and will run from 9 to 11:30 am. We have a small turnout of about a dozen but Denis Zavolock, the coach, will customize the training for this group.
In addition, because of the reduced size and duration, and the fact that there is now one clinic instead of two, we are able to pay for it through the parents fund and will not need to collect any money. If you have already sent in a check for one of the prior dates, please contact Gloria Nussbaum to see what you would like to do about it (have it returned, torn up, etc.)

JV practice 7 to 8:30 am
Varsity game at Hopkins, 12:15 bus, pool is open by 1 pm for warm up, 2 pm game start.
JV are welcome and encouraged to come to watch the game.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16 — Clinic
We are still working out the clinic. Looks like it may go forward, even with fewer kids. Should confirm by this afternoon. If anyone needs to drop or add please let me know as soon as possible as that may change things.

We are going to have a concession stand at Tuesday’s game. We will sell snacks, drinks and water polo car stickers. I am looking for donations and a few helpers at concession stand.
